Stockingfield Bridge opening
Carnival Arts Scotland was commissioned by Scottish Canals to celebrate the opening of a new pedestrian, wheel and cycle bridge across the Forth and Clyde Canal. We worked in partnership with community groups in North Glasgow, Maryhill, Ruchill, Hamiltonhill and Possilpark to create lanterns which members of the community carried in procession as part of the opening ceremony event. We also worked with local watersports and cycling groups to light up the canal and towpath, and artists and performers to create installations and illuminate the landscape surrounding the bridge.
